A Little About Us

IMG_1434_edited.jpg

It all started in 2013 when Patty Giarrusso's heart broke after losing her beloved dogs, Jackson Browne and Rocko. Thankfully, they were found safe, but that experience sparked a mission.

Patty then created the Lost and Found Pets 941 (Lost Pet Services) Facebook group, which has become the largest and most active lost and found pet group in the Manatee-Sarasota and Charlotte county area, covering Bradenton, Sarasota, and beyond! Today, the group boasts over 57,000 members and continues to grow with hundreds joining every month.

More than just a Facebook group, Lost Pet Services is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization run entirely by passionate volunteers. Our mission is simple: keep pets and those who love them together.

Here's How We Do It

  • Lost and Found Pets 941: This group provides a platform for owners to search for lost pets and report found animals, increasing the chances of happy reunions.

  • PAWs Project: We offer financial assistance to pet owners facing vet bills, preventing the heartbreaking decision of surrendering their beloved companions due to cost.

Lost Pet Services has helped reunite 1000's of local pets with their owners and provided over $260,000 helping hundreds of pets with vet care, covering everything from routine care to critical injuries and surgeries.   All our services are completely free!

We are Lost Pet Services, and we believe in fulfilling our mission of keeping pets and those who love them together.

Join us in making a difference!

Lexie

missing more than 110 days

"We can't thank you all enough for the many hours spent driving around, hanging signs and sharing this post. Nicole received a call from animal services this morning to bring Lexie home. Apparently, the nursing home behind the racetrack gas station, east of 75, had seen her around for the past couple of weeks. Animal services then set a trap last night and she was found in it this morning. She went to the vet first thing and Is very skinny! So thank you again!!!"

- Lindsay Blakeley Perez

sister of Lexie's owner
