A Little About Us

IMG_1434_edited.jpg

The organization was originally founded in 2013 as a Facebook group by Patty Giarrusso when she lost her two dogs, Jackson Browne and Rocko.   Thankfully, they were found safe and she then embarked on a mission.  That mission led to the Lost and Found Pets 941 (Lost Pet Services ) Facebook group which is now the largest, most active lost and found group in the Manatee - Sarasota County areas covering Sarasota, Bradenton, Palmetto, Parrish, Ellenton, Venice, Northport, Myakka and areas beyond.   The group has grown to over 50,000 member followers and continues to grow by hundreds every month.

Lost Pet Services has helped to reunite 1,000s of local pets with their owners and has contributed over $200,000 helping hundreds of pets with vet care - from routine care to care for major injuries and surgeries.     All services the group offers are free.

Lexie

missing more than 110 days

"We can't thank you all enough for the many hours spent driving around, hanging signs and sharing this post. Nicole received a call from animal services this morning to bring Lexie home. Apparently, the nursing home behind the racetrack gas station, east of 75, had seen her around for the past couple of weeks. Animal services then set a trap last night and she was found in it this morning. She went to the vet first thing and Is very skinny! So thank you again!!!"
