Lost Pet Services, Inc. President, Patty Giarrusso, received a Special Recognition Award presented by Sheriff Rick Wells of the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

Thanks to the generous donations of our supporters, Lost Pet Services was able to purchase and donate a universal microchip scanner to the Sheriff's Dept. Agricultural Crimes Unit to be used in animal abuse/neglect/cruelty investigations with the hope that some dogs/pets located might be some of our lost pets.

Lost Pet Services will also be donating a second microchip scanner to the Parrish Fire Station to be used to scan found pets after hours and on the weekends. There are no ER vets to scan in the Parrish and Ellenton areas and this will help to expedite reunions of found pets.

Lost Pet Services, through their Facebook group, Lost and Found Pets 941 (Facebook.com/groups/LostFoundPets941), is dedicated to reuniting lost pets in the Manatee and Sarasota counties area. Already this year, over 1,600 lost pets have been reunited. Since they started reuniting lost pets with their owners, over 6,000 pets have been reunited.

Thank you to our generous supporters and members for the continued success of our organization. We hit the milestone of 20,000 members this month." More great news to come!
